VfB Stuttgart coach Alexander Zorniger is expecting a stern test from fellow strugglers Borussia MG on Saturday after steering his side to their first win of the season.
Die Roten picked up maximum points in midweek as goals from Christian Genter, Timo Werner and Alexandru Maxim secured a 3-1 victory over Hannover 96 at HDI-Arena.
Reflecting on his side's midweek performance, Zorniger told the club's official website: "The win really did us good.
"I was very satisfied by the way my team approached the game. The three points will have had the same effect in Gladbach as they did with us, though."
Borussia MG also ended their winless run in midweek, recording a 4-2 win at home to Augsburg. However, they remain on the drop zone by virtue of VfB Stuttgart's superior goal difference.
Zorniger added: "The ability of our opponents is to be highly rated. They ignited some real fireworks for twenty minutes against Augsburg."
