There were goals, goals and more goals at the Chonburi Stadium on Sunday as hosts Chonburi FC recorded a thrilling 7-5 win over visitors Chiangmai FC in the Thai League.
The undisputed star of the evening turned out to be Chonburi’s Brazilian striker Lukian who scored five in the evening to take his side to victory in the midst of the goal spree.
Lukian opened the scoring in the 18th minute before Chiangmai’s Mustafa Azadzoy made it level 1-1 in the 21st minute. Chiangmai took the lead in the 31st minute, however Lukian struck again in the 39th minute before completing his hattrick three minutes later.
Lukian will score his fourth before half time while Afghanistan striker Azadzoy scored to run things tight again at 4-3. Lukian found his fifth in the 66th minute while Myanmar international Sithu Aung scored the Sharks’ sixth in the 80th minute.
Chonburi are currently eighth in the points table with 11 points from eight games while Chiangmai are 15th — only one position above rock-bottom Muangthong United — with seven points from as many matches.
Port FC lead the Thai League with 17 points from eight games.
