Albirex Niigata Singapore continue their subpar form in the Singapore Premier League as they were held to a 0-0 draw against DPMM.
The defending champions were easily the favourites to rule again in the 2019 campaign but it has definitely not started off the way they want to.
Suffering a 1-0 loss to Geylang International to open up their campaign, they have now gone in consecutive league matches without scoring a goal.
Adding in the Community Shield loss to Home United – where they lost via penalty shootout after a 0-0 tie, the defending champions have yet to break the barrier so far.
As for DPMM, their unbeaten run continues as they won their first two Singapore Premier League matches with a 1-0 win over Home United followed by a 3-0 thrashing of Geylang International.
The goalless draw against Albirex Niigata helps them climb atop the table with seven points, with Tampines Rovers a point behind but with a game in hand.
