The Philippine Football Federation have called upon the services of Spanish-Filipino defender Diego Bardanca.
According to sources, the centre-back will represent the Philippine Azkals from March 18 to 26 in Thailand.
The 25-year-old is eligible to represent the Philippines as his grandmother is Filipina.
Currently playing for Polish club Bytovia Bytow, Bardanca is a towering presence that can certainly help the emerging Asian nation in international football.
Speaking about his call-up, Bardanca expressed his excitement, saying: “I’m very happy. It is an opportunity for me to play in the future, perhaps, the Asian Cup of the qualifiers to achieve a place in the World Cup.”
