On Matchday 2 of the ongoing AFC U-23 Championship 2020 qualifiers, Group J member Philippines U-23 will take on China U-23 in their second match.
After losing their first match in the competition by 3-0 against Malaysia, Philippines are now set to take on China U-23 who won their last game against Laos by 5-0.
China’s U-23 head coach Guus Hiddink said, “It’s not always fair to make a comparison with leading countries in world football like the Europeans and South Americans. But what I experience now is that football in Asia has developed a lot”.
“Having good coaches is the most important thing to develop youth. The young players want to play and they love the game, and the most important thing is that there is a lot of awareness of how coaches deal with the development of young players,” he added. It will now be interesting to see which team strengthens their chances of qualifying for the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship in today’s encounter.
