Myanmar National League club Shan United have parted ways with their head coach Min Thu following their 3-1 defeat to Persija Jakarta in the AFC Cup 2019 group stage the other day.
The defeat to the Indonesia Liga 1 champions meant that Shan had lost both their opening matches in Group G of the continental competition — with the Myanmarese side having also lost to Ceres-Negros FC 3-2 on the opening match day.
Shan United, runners-up last season in the domestic league, have also failed to win matches back home this season having only won two and drawn three of their five Myanmar National League matches so far. They sit third in the table with nine points — one point behind leaders Yangon United and second-placed Hantharwady.
Shan United announced that it had decided to part ways with the coach after holding discussions with Min Thu. Technical director Aung Naing will take over as the head coach until a permanent successor is employed.
