Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) captain Hariss Harun has called for an improvement in performance levels of his teammates as they host Shandong Luneng in the AFC Champions League 2019.
JDT face the Chinese Super League giants in a Group E encounter at Larkin on Matchday 4 of ACL 2019. The Southern Tigers have only collected a single point during their debut ACL campaign despite some decent displays against big names in Asian football.

And the Singapore international believes his club can challenge no matter which players are put on the field by head coach Luciano Figueroa. “JDT are a big club with many great players. We need to believe in each other and give our support to whoever that is fielded in the first 11,” he said.
“This match does not just focus on the physical aspects, but the mental aspect as well. What’s important is that we know our respective responsibilities and what needs to be done in the match,” Hariss told during the news conference ahead of the continental showdown.
“The players will also need to trust in their own abilities when playing in Asia’s highest competition. We know that we can compete. It is true that we made some mistakes but it is a lesson for us to improve on,” the 28-year-old midfielder said.
