Guangzhou Evergrande cruised to a 4-0 win at the Tianhe Stadium on Wednesday to leave Melbourne Victory still without a point in AFC Champions League 2019.

Anderson Talisca was the star of the show for the Chinese Super League giants, opening the scoring after six minutes when he made a late run into the box to meet Gao Lin’s left-wing cross with a firm header into the back of the net.

Four minutes later, the Brazilian forward doubled his and his side’s tally with a sublime effort, receiving possession on the edge of the box and cutting onto his left foot before sending a superb curler past Matt Acton’s despairing dive.

Highlights – Guangzhou Evergrande vs Melbourne Victory

The contest was effectively over three minutes before halftime when Yang Liyu added a third, after he was slipped in by Paulinho and fizzed away a low drive that Acton came close to saving but failed to prevent from finding the bottom corner.

And, in the 73rd minute, the hosts completed the rout after Gao Lin’s close-range effort was parried by Acton but ricocheted off an unlucky Leigh Broxham, who could only watch on as the ball bounced into the back of the unguarded goal.
