Malaysia Super League champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) travel to China to face Shandong Luneng with the hope of recording their first-ever win in the group stages of the AFC Champions League.
JDT began their 2019 AFC Champions League campaign with a 2-1 defeat to defending champions Kashima Antlers, but managed to record their first point in the continental championship with a 1-1 draw against Gyeongnam FC at the Larkin on Matchday 2.
Now, they will make the trip to Shandong to face their Chinese Super League opposition. Shandong Luneng meanwhile have began the ACL 2019 with back-to-back draws — 2-2 stalemates against Gyeongnam on MD1 and Kashima on MD2.
And they will be hungry to get their campaign on track with a win against Johor. Can the home side collect all three points or will the Southern Tigers spring a surprise and return to Malaysia with a historic win?
