Selangor fell to a third consecutive defeat in the Malaysia Super League on Sunday as they were beaten 3-0 by Perak TBG at the Perak Stadium.
The hosts opened the scoring through an Ashmawi Yakin own-goal in the 21st minute, before D. Kenny Pallraj doubled their lead five minutes after the half-hour mark.
Gilmar then struck just before halftime to effectively put the result beyond doubt, and Selangor’s miserable evening was compounded by a red card to Willian Pacheco for a second bookable offence four minutes from time.
After starting the campaign with two wins in a row, the Red Giants have now slipped to 8th on the table and are already trailing leaders Johor Darul Ta’zim by six points.
Over at the Hang Jebat Stadium, Melaka United got back to winning ways in the MSL with a 2-0 triumph over PKNP FC.
Yahor Zubovich got Melaka on their way with his 14th-minute opener, before netting again in the 86th minute to wrap up the three points.
