Muangthong United’s inconsistent start to the 2018 Thai League 1 campaign continued on Saturday as they played out a 1-1 draw with Chiangrai United.

Things could have been even worse for the Kirins at the SCG Stadium as Sivakorn Tiatrakul handed Chiangrai a 12th-minute lead, applying the finishing touch after being released by a fine passing move involving Piyaphon Phanichakul, Cleiton Silva and Bajram Nebihi.

However, Jaja Coelho equalised five minutes before the break when he ran onto Charyl Chappuis’ incisive through-pass and clinically fired past Chatchai Budprom to salvage a share of the spoils for the hosts.

Still, Muangthong are already five points off the pace after picking up just seven from their opening four matches.

Over at the Boonyachinda Stadium, Nakhon Ratchasima notched their third win of the campaign as they beat Police Tero 1-0.

Following a goalless first half, the breakthrough finally arrived in the 79th minute when Ekkachai Rittipan found the back of the net.

Ubon UMT United were also winners on Saturday with their 1-0 triumph over bottom side Air Force Central, which came courtesy of a Thaweekun Thong-on strike ten minutes from time.

Finally, Lukian scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot as Pattaya United defeated Navy 1-0.
