Thailand international Chanathip Songkrasin opened his J1 League account on Friday in Consadole Sapporo’s 3-3 draw against Cerezo Osaka.
It initially looked as though the visitors were headed for their second defeat of 2018, after goals from Kenyu Sugimoto and Toshiyuki Takagi put Cerezo 2-0 up at the KINCHO Stadium.
However, Chanathip pulled one back for Consadole two minutes after the hour mark, stooping low to meet Koji Miyoshi’s right-wing cross with a diving header into the back of the net.

Kazuki Fukai then levelled the scores seven minutes later, although Yoichiro Kakitani netted in the 72nd minute to reclaim the lead for the hosts.
Nonetheless, with 11 minutes remaining, Ryosuke Shindo found the back of the net to make it 3-3 and salvage a share of the spoils for Consadole.
Chanathip’s goal sees him follow in the footsteps of compatriot Teerasil Dangda, who broke his duck on his Sanfrecce Hiroshima debut last Saturday in a 1-0 win over Consadole.
Friday’s other J1 League matches saw reigning champions Kawasaki Frontale held to a 1-1 draw by Shonan Bellmare, while Kashiwa Reysol beat Yokohama F. Marinos 2-0.
