Muangthong United and Thailand star Teerasil Dangda has completed his move to Japan’s Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
The Thailand international will initially move to Sanfrecce on loan, but will reportedly still be eligible to play for the Twin Qilins early next year as they look to qualify for the AFC Champions League.
In sealing his move to Japan, Teerasil will follow in the footsteps of his Thailand national team colleague Chanathip Songkrasin, who is currently plying his trade with Consadole Sapporo.
“I’m so excited to be able to have this opportunity to play in a foreign country,” the 29-year-old said, according to Siamsport.
“I know that I will have to adapt to the language and culture, but this is nothing that I didn’t expect.”
Although playing in the J1 League will undoubtedly be a step up from the Thai League 1, Teerasil is expected to be part of Sanfrecce coach Hiroshi Jofuku’s starting XI plans.
