Chaowat Veerachat edges closer to Cerezo Osaka move

Thailand starlet Chaowat Veerachat appears to be on the brink of a big overseas move with J1 League’s Cerezo Osaka reportedly interested in his services.

Midfielder Chaowat is currently on the books of Thai League 1 outfit Bangkok Glass, having joined them at the start of this year after beginning his career with domestic giants Buriram United.

During his time with the Thunder Castle, the 21-year-old won the treble of the league, FA Cup and League Cup twice in 2014 and 2015, and is widely regarded as one of Thai football’s hottest prospects.

Following the success Chanathip Songkrasin has already had half a year into his loan spell at Consadole Sapporo, many of Thailand’s other prominent names have been tipped to join him in Japan, including the likes of Teerasil Dangda and Theerathon Bunmathan.

And it now appears that Chaowat is also set to earn a move to Japan’s top flight after being linked to Cerezo.

FOX Sports Asia believes that the deal is close to being completed, with all parties just left to tidy up some final pieces of paperwork.

Chaowat, known for his energetic and creative displays in the middle of the park, scored two goals for the Glass Rabbits in the league this season as they finished fifth on the table.
