Vladimir Weiss scored the only goal of the game as Lekhwiya beat Bunyodkor 1-0 in their AFC Champions League Group A encounter on Wednesday.
The result means Lekhwiya remains in contention to qualify for the knock-outs in second place in group behind Persepolis, while Bunyodkor is on the verge of being eliminated with only one point after four games.
Lekhwiya dominated possession throughout the first half but it was only through the ingenuity of Weiss that the Qatari side was able to break the deadlock.
The Slovakian received the ball inside the penalty area and after beating of Dostonbek Khamdamov, he curled in a lovely shot with his right foot past the outstretched Akbar Turaev.
The hosts continued to show plenty of attacking verve in the second half as Sebastian Soria was denied by Turaev with eighteen minutes remaining.
The Bunyodkor goalkeeper was proving to be a thorn in the side of hosts, with the Uruguay-born Qatar international spurning another chance seven minutes later.
Turaev's heroics were ultimately fruitless since the side were incapable of producing any noteworthy scoring opportunities.
