Nassir Al Shamrani scored twice as Al Hilal beat Foolad 2-0 in their AFC Champions League Group C encounter at the King Fahd International Stadium.
After missing the first three matches of this year's competition through suspension, the reigning AFC Player of the Year marked his return to the side with a brace of goals.
The result moves Al Hilal level on points with Al Sadd at the top of the group, while Foolad is in last place, four points behind the leaders with two matches remaining.
Al Hilal dominated the opening half but were unable to turn their possession advantage into meaningful goal-scoring opportunities.
The deadlock was broken almost immediately after the half-time break when Al Shamrani directed his header on target after making a sweet connection with Salem Al Dawsari's cross.
On the hour mark, Sasan Ansari's mistake in defense saw the ball drop to Al Shahrani and his low shot gave Alireza Salimi in the Foolad goal no chance of a save.
