Victory eyeing success in Asia

It was Victory's third Grand Final victory, joining Brisbane Roar at the top of the standings, and they are the only club to have won the A-League regular season title three times

The Victorian club's domestic success means that they have booked their spot in next season's AFC Champions League, and Di Pietro is confident that they can follow in the footsteps of West Sydney Wanderers and flourish in Asia.

“We’ve qualified for the Asian Champions League and we think that we’ve learnt a lot from the past,” Di Pietro told

“We think West Sydney have led the way and set a great example and a pathway. And we want to be the next to get in there and showcase what Australia can produce.

“There’s not a measure now that we’re not the strongest club – from Grand Final winners, Premiers’ Plate, crowds, broadcast, membership – and we want to bring that through to Asia."
