Olaroiu: There is a lot of bad blood

During their United Arab Emirates Super Cup match on March 27, which Al Ahli won 1-0, Al Ain fans threw objects on the field when attacking midfielder Mohammad Abdul Rahman was shown a red card. In addition, Olaroiu was also given his marching orders and was forced to watch his side triumph from the stands.

Olaroiu expects things to heat up even further in Wednesday's clash as he believes an AFC Champions League match is more important that a domestic fixture.

"Every match between Al Ahli and Al Ain is a derby," Olaroiu said during his pre-match press conference on Tuesday. "Both play with the objective of winning. Both teams have good quality players and, of course, the motivation and determination of players is much more in a Champions League match than in a domestic league game.

"There is a history between these two clubs and this is a good thing as it helps football in the UAE.

"There is pressure for both teams. But for me every game against Al Ain is real football and spectators always enjoy such games. Of course there is pressure for both teams, but we have our target and that is to get to the next round."
