Currently working on an interim basis, Syria’s head football coach Fajr Jbrahim’s position will soon be made full-time, as per announcements from the Syria Football Association.
Ibrahim took up the reins of Syria following their defeat to Jordan in the recently-concluded AFC Asian Cup 2019. They had only one game remaining in tbe group stage, which they eventually lost to Australia before crashing out of the competition.
But it was still expected that Ibrahim would be made permanent at the helm, which has now been confirmed with the latest piece of news.
The decision is bound to come into effect ahead of the upcoming International Friendship in Basra, Iraq where they will face the hosts on March 22nd. Their second match of the competition is against Jordan on March 24th, after which they will travel to Abu Dhabi to play against the UAE on March 26th.
