The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) says that Malaysia can win the AFF Suzuki Cup final and walk away champions.
Malaysia face Thailand in a two part final in Bangkok on 17 December and then at home in Kuala Lumpur on 20 December, and FAM secretary-general, Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin has faith the Harimau Malaya can overcome the four times winners to be crowned AFF Suzuki Cup champions.
Amin said: "We have to win as there is no other choice, we need to win as the people will remember us if we win the cup but the people will not remember if we lose.
"I hope Harimau Malaya will not miss the opportunity to win this time. I have stressed to the players, that our struggle is not up to here only."
He added: "Take advantage of the homeground in Kuala Lumpur to win the AFF Cup."
Mohd Badhri Radzi, who made his international debut earlier in the tournament, believes he can help Malaysia regain their Suzuki Cup title.
He said: "I hope the coach will give me a role to play in the final so that I can help the team to reclaim the AFF Suzuki Cup crown which we last won in 2010.
"My confidence is up after making my national team debut … but I need more opportunities to improve at the international level."
