Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has received a welcome injury boost after James Milner and Jordon Ibe returned to first-team training on Monday.
Both players withdrew from international duty prior to the international break due to hamstring and knee injuries respectively.
However, the duo took part in Monday's full training session, meaning they could be in contention for Saturday's crunch clash with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
While the return of Milner and Ibe is most certainly a welcome fillip for the German manager, he is still without the services of several other players.
Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Henderson are still thought to be at least a week away from returning to first-team training, while Kolo Toure is rated doubtful for Saturday's Premier League encounter.
Mamadou Sakho, Danny Ings, and Joe Gomez, meanwhile, are long-term absentees along with Jon Flanagan, who is expected to return from a serious knee injury in mid-December.
