Despite slow starts to the season, Juventus and AC Milan should be considered favourites for the Serie A title, according to Bologna head coach Roberto Donadoni.
The Bianconeri take on AC Milan in the first game back after the FIFA international break and Donadoni is expecting an evenly contested and intriguing encounter.
"They both have shown good form recently. It is a very balanced match that represents football in Italy. The team that shows more conviction and more unity will win the match," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I would include Juventus and Milan in the list of possible Scudetto winners as they have time to climb back up the standings. Unlike the teams at the top they can't make mistakes, but they aren't inferior to Inter, Fiorentina, Roma or Napoli."
Donadoni was appointed as head coach at Bologna less than a month ago, in place of the sacked Delio Rossi, with the club in 16th place in Serie A, just one point above the relegation places.
"Taking over at a team that is in trouble in the standings comes with its difficulties, but I knowingly agreed to it. I took over because I believe we can remain in Serie A," he pledged.
"I took over a team that was in great shape thanks to the work of Delio Rossi. Even though we've only played two matches I have a good feeling about things, as we have a lot of young players. It is key that we remain in Serie A in order to lay the foundation for future plans."
