Spain midfielder David Silva has been released from the national-team camp ahead of their friendly against Argentina due to personal reasons.
La Furia Roja announced after the 1-1 draw with Germany on Friday that the Manchester City star would not play a part in Tuesday’s match.
Silva has missed several Premier League games for City this season, having been given time off by manager Pep Guardiola to spend time with his wife and son, who was born prematurely.
The 32-year-old is likely to return to action for the runaway Premier League leaders when they take on Everton next weekend after the international break.
A statement from the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) read: “Player David Silva has been released from the squad for personal reasons.”
