Germany and the United States booked their passage in the Under-17 World Cup quarter-finals with comprehensive victories over Colombia and Paraguay respectively.

Germany became the first country to progress from the last-16 when they thrashed Colombia 4-0 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Monday.

A brace from Jann Arp (7′, 65′) helped the Germans to victory, while Yann Bisseck (39′) and John Zamora (49′) also got on the scoresheet in New Delhi to dump Los Cafeteros out of the tournament in India.

They are joined in the last-eight by the United States, who ran out convincing 5-0 victors against Paraguay in their last-16 clash at the same venue.

Timothy Weah (19′, 53′, 77′) led the way with a hat-trick, although USA had to wait until after the break to secure victory as Andrew Carleton (63′) and Joshua Sargent (74′) helped put the game out of sight.
