West Ham turn away from their stuttering league campaign for Wednesday’s League Cup clash against Cheltenham Town at the LCI Rail Stadium.
The Hammers started their Premier League campaign with a 4-0 thrashing by Manchester United, and have no points on the board after losing 3-2 to Southampton last weekend.
The Robins have also had a tough time of it in League Two, going down 3-0 to Carlisle United last weekend after losing their opening match to Morecambe and beating Crawley Town in their second match.
"We are up against Premier League opposition so there has got to be a real work rate," said Cheltenham boss Gary Johnson. "If you let teams like West Ham run all over you and around you then you are in for a long night. We need some real team energy."
In team news, the Hammers will be without defender Winston Reid due to a calf strain, while there are doubts on the fitness of Manuel Lanzini (knee), Cheikhou Kouyate (knee), and Andy Carroll (groin strain). Austrian playmaker Marko Arnautovic is suspended.
