Giovanni van Bronckhorst spoke of his pride at claiming a third trophy in just over two years with Feyenoord following their Johan Cruyff Shield success on Saturday.
The Eredivisie champions defeated Vitesse 4-2 on penalties after the match had ended 1-1.
Alexander Buttner cancelled out Jens Toornstra's seventh minute opener with a 58th minute penalty but the hosts scored all of their spot kicks to claim the silverware.
Speaking to the NOS, Van Bronckhorst said: "It’s always special to win something with Feyenoord and tonight is our 3rd trophy in 15 months. I am happy for the players and the club.
”We put a lot of energy into the match especially the first 25 minutes and we hoped to put the game to bed within that time . After that I thought we became careless in ball possession where Vitesse Arnhem managed to get back into the game at 1-1.
”We are all happy that we have won another trophy tonight. In the last three seasons we have won three trophies and we are delighted with that.”
