Zinedine Zidane concedes that Real Madrid’s preseason preparations have not been encouraging after their penalty shootout win over the MLS All Stars.
Los Blancos were held to a 1-1 draw in Chicago on Thursday, their fourth below-par result after defeats in their International Champions Cup matches against Manchester United, Manchester City and Barcelona.
"The tour has not been great in general," Zidane said. "We did some good things but the feeling is bad because we played four games and struggled.
"We can't settle for that but we'll be back. We had four games to prepare our first official game and that's that. We have work to do.
"I wanted to give everyone some time. Marcelo, Gareth [Bale] and Karim [Benzema] had played many minutes before. We have an important game coming up and that is what matters, not today."
The 'important game' Zidane is referring to is Tuesday’s Uefa Super Cup match against Europa League winners Manchester United, who recently defeated them on penalties after a 1-1 draw in California.
"What we want to do is go home and rest before the 8th and prepare for the game. I would have liked some better results but I'm happy with the tour and the work we've put in."
