Vecino leaves Viola for Inter

Internazionale have bolstered their midfield options ahead of the coming season with the signing of Matias Vecino from Fiorentina.

The Uruguay international arrives at Inter from their domestic rivals after Luciano Spalletti's side activated his €24m release clause.

After signing a four-year contract with the Serie A giants on Tuesday to become the Nerazzurri's fourth major signing of the off season following the arrivals of Daniele Padelli, Milan Skriniar and Borja Valero – Vecino spoke of his pride to join the European giants.

"I am really happy to be here in Milan and it is a very important moment for me," the 25-year-old told Inter Channel. "I will start working with the squad tomorrow and I hope to start well.

"I have been in Italy for a few years now and I believe that I am the right age and have the experience to make this a positive adventure.

"I hope to flourish whilst wearing this great shirt."
