Pulis: Our transfer activity is behind schedule

West Brom manager Tony Pulis admits he was hoping to have signed more of his transfer targets at this stage of the off-season, but remains patient.

The Baggies have recently been linked with Middlesbrough centre-back Ben Gibson and Barcelona centre-back Thomas Vermaelen.

Pulis is eager to add to the signings he's made thus far, namely Jay Rodriguez from Southampton and loanee Ahmed Hegazy from Al Ahly.

When asked about the links, Pulis said, according to Sky Sports: "We've been linked with a load more as well, and until we sign anyone I'll keep it close to my chest.

"I was hoping we'd get a few over the line by now, and it hasn't happened, but you have to be patient."

He added: "We're trying to get players in. We've got to keep trying to get these deals over the line."
