Stoke manager Mark Hughes is eager to see what Saido Berahino can produce for his team in the upcoming season, after scoring against Monaco.
The 23-year-old striker netted a close-range goal against the Ligue 1 champions in a pre-season friendly on Saturday that resulted in a 4-2 defeat for the Potters.
Hughes was impressed by how sharp Berahino looked in front of goal and is upbeat about his future prospects in the Premier League.
"He has been looking incredibly sharp since he has come back in and clearly everybody can see the work that he has been putting in," the Welshman told the club's official website.
"He will certainly reap the benefits of that, and already is to be perfectly honest, especially now that he has scored that first goal.
"We are looking forward to what Saido could produce this season for us with real optimism."
