Arsene Wenger is confident that Alexis Sanchez will remain at Arsenal this summer, despite major question marks over his future.
Sanchez is approaching the final 12 months of his contract at the Emirates and has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester City after Arsenal’s failure to secure Champions League football.
But speaking on Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Australia, Wenger believes that Sanchez will commit his future to the Gunners.
“There is not a lot to resolve at the moment with the player," said Wenger.
"I have spoken through text and it was very positive. My thoughts are always positive."
Equally, Wenger believes that midfielder Jack Wilshere will stay at Arsenal after the England international spent last season on loan at Bournemouth.
Wilshere is still recovering from a broken leg, suffered towards the end of the campaign, yet has been linked with a move to Italian outfit Sampdoria.
Wenger added: "I think Jack will be with Arsenal next season, yes.
"I will give you a very focused answer on that, that he has to work hard to come back and fight for a place in the team.
"But once he is ready, when he comes back, he will not be far from practising with the team."
