Sebastien Corchia is set to undergo a medical at Sevilla after they agreed a deal with Lille to sign the French right-back.
Premier League duo Crystal Palace and Watford have also been linked with a move for the 26-year-old, who was an ever present for Les Dogues last season in Ligue 1.
But the Spanish club appear to have won the race for his signature, with Corchia putting the final touches on a deal reportedly worth €5 million.
New Los Rojiblancos head coach Eduardo Berizzo is hopeful that the transfer of the France international will go through before his squad jets off to Japan for the start of their pre-season preparations later on Thursday.
"Sebastien Corchia will travel in the coming hours to Seville in order to complete a medical and, if everything goes well, to sign a contract that will make him a new Sevilla player," the Andalusian club said in a statement.
"The idea is for the 26-year-old France international to travel on Thursday to Japan with the nervionense party."
