Anthony Modeste has swapped the Bundesliga for the Chinese Super League after sealing a reported £31m move from 1. FC Köln to Tianjin Quanjian.
The 29-year-old former Nice, Bordeaux and Hoffenheim striker was the league's third-highest top-scorer last term with 25 goals.
A brief statement from the club read: "Striker Anthony Modeste departs FC Köln. The 29-year-old will continue his career in the Chinese Super League with Tianjin Quanjian. All relevant parties have reached an agreement.
FC Köln would like to thank Tony for his performances in the FC jersey whilst wishing him all the best for the future."
While the club made no mention of a loan deal, the Bild say the deal is a two-year loan, costing £5m, with a £26m option to buy.
And Cologne have already signed a replacement for Modeste with the signing of 24-year-old Jhon Cordoba from Mainz last month.
