VfL Wolfsburg have announced the signing of La Liga midfielder Ignacio Camacho, hailing the player's skill, experience and temperament off the pitch.
The Bundesliga club, who narrowly avoided the drop to the German second division last season, announced the signing on Saturday and will no doubt be hoping that his addition will add much-needed resilience to their midfield.
The 27-year-old signed for an undisclosed fee and will remain at the club until 2021. He will join up with his new team-mates at their pre-season training camp at Bad Ragaz on Monday before being officially presented to the media the day after.
In a statement on the club's official website, sporting director Olaf Rebbe expressed his joy over the capture.
"We are delighted about the transfer of Ignacio Camacho," he said."He is a team player, who always serves his side. In addition, in recent years, he has developed into a true leader in Malaga.
"Aside from his undeniable qualities on the pitch, from our very first meeting with him, we got the impression that Ignacio suits VfL and our values here perfectly as a character."
Die Wolfe head coach Andries Jonker also had his say on the signing.
"Ignacio will strengthen our central-midfield further with his abilities," the Dutchman stated. "He also possesses a great deal of experience at the highest level. I am really looking forward to working together with him."
