Everton accept United’s Lukaku bid

Manchester United have moved one step closer to securing Everton striker Romelu Lukaku after agreeing on a £75m deal with their Premier League rivals.

According to BBC Football; "Jose Mourinho's side are hopeful of concluding a deal in time for Lukaku to join the squad before they depart for a pre-season tour to the United States on Sunday."

Following the serious injury to Zlatan Ibrahimovic that ruled the Swede out for the year, manager Jose Mourinho has been on the look-out for a new first-choice striker.

Alvaro Morata was touted as the club's number one target but after a few frustrating weeks of negotiations with Real Madrid, the Red Devils turned their attentions to the 24-year-old Chelsea target.

The Belgian international, who scored 87 goals in 166 games for the Toffees was ironically sold to the club by Mourinho for £28m during his tenure at Chelsea in 2014.

Nonetheless, with his agent Mino Raiola having close ties with United after engineering deals for his other clients Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan – it weighed in favour of a move to Old Trafford.
