Marcelino has made his first signing as Valencia manager with the capture of two-time Kazakhstan Premier League winner Nemanja Maksimovic.
The Serbia international left Astana last month at the end of his contract after helping them secure back-to-back league titles in 2015 and 2016.
Maksimovic has put pen to paper on a five-year deal at the Mestalla and brings with him important Champions League and Europa League experience.
Los Che have already retained the services of Simone Zaza and Fabian Orellana after the duo made their loan moves permanent at the end of the campaign, making the 22-year-old attacking midfielder Marcelino's first acquisition.
The Spaniard will be tasked with getting the club back into the upper echelons of La Liga following a disappointing 12th-placed finish last season.
