Marquinhos commits to PSG

Paris Saint-Germain have secured the long-term future of defender Marquinhos with a new three-year contract extension.

Marquinhos has been linked with moves away from the Ligue 1 giants in recent months after becoming frustrated by the lack of progress over a new contract.

However, the speculation linking him to Barcelona and Chelsea will no doubt cool down with the news of a new deal until the summer of 2022.

"I have always said I am happy to play for PSG, and this contract extension is further proof of my commitment to the club," he told the club's official website.

"I feel very good at this club and with this group of players. I have found here the perfect place to flourish, and hope to win many more trophies."

Since arriving at the Parc des Princes in 2013 from AS Roma, the Brazil international has scored 13 goals in 161 appearances across all competitions.
