Bayern complete deal for South Korean prodigy

Bayern Wooyeong Jeong

FC Bayern München have announced the signing of promising South Korean forward Wooyeong Jeong on a four-year contract that will take effect in January.

Jeong will make history as the first South Korean to don the colours of the German giants. According to his current club Incheon United, he will officially be presented within the new year.

Die Rotten confirmed the deal on their official website and described the prodigy as a highly versatile forward. That immediately sparked comparisons to former Bundesliga star Son Heung-min on social media.

“Jeong is a quick and skilled player who can play in several positions up front. He showed his quality earlier in the year when the 17-year-old completed trials over several days at Säbener Strasse and he also trained with the first team,” read the statement on the club’s website.

The youngster will join up with the German side’s development team once he arrives in Europe.
