AS Roma have seen an opening bid for Ajax Amsterdam forward Kasper Dolberg rejected by last seasons' Europa League finalists – with the Eredivisie club not keen to sell.
After initially being signed up as a back-up forward, Dolberg assumed a much bigger role following the sale of Arkadiusz Milik to Napoli. He ended the European season as one of the most sought after talents, scoring 23 goals in all competitions.
According to Mediaset in Italy, the Giallorossi launched a €15 million for the Denmark international.
The 19-year-old's agent Jens Steffensen claims he's heard nothing from last season's Serie A runners-up, but refused to comment on the reports of the bid.
"Italy is interesting for every player," Steffensen told Pagine Romaniste. "I don't know anything about Roma's interest though, you'd be better off calling [Ajax sporting director] Marc Overmars."
Eusebio Di Francesco's side has already acquired two Eredivisie stars this offseason with the arrivals of defender Hector Moreno from PSV and Feyenoord's Rick Karsdorp.
