VfL Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Jonas Hofmann is eager to get going with pre-season training and has already completed a light training session at the club.
The 24-year-old has been away on holiday, but can't wait to take on the challenge of the new campaign and is determined to be in the best shape possible.
"I've come back a few days early to prepare myself for the start of training and make sure I'm there and fully fit when pre-season really gets going," he told the club's official website.
"No one wants to go into pre-season with an injury. Everyone wants to be fully fit from the start. Pre-season is always important in order to prove yourself to the coach. Therefore, you don't want to be carrying any knocks.
"It was a long summer break this year. Therefore, I'm happy that it's getting going again. I played a bit of tennis and golf on holiday, but you can't compare that with professional sport that we're doing here."
Hofmann made 29 appearances for Monchengladbach across all competitions last term, contributing with two goals and four assists.
