Donnarumma blames ‘hacking’ for renewal message

Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma insists the message posted from his Instagram account regarding new contract talks was from a hacker.

The 18-year-old Rossoneri star's future at the club was cast in doubt after he turned down a latest contract offer, with only one year left on his current deal.

A message posted on Donnarumma's Instagram account has stated that he would enter contract talks again with Milan, but he has since claimed that his account had been hacked.

"Today my tweet sparked a real uproar, which I did not wish to create, so for that I apologise," read the message on Instagram.

"I wish to reiterate my absolute love for Milan and its fans. Now all that's in my mind is the national team, with whom I hope to give a gift to all the supporters.

"My promise is that, as soon as the [U21] Euros are finished, I will meet the club along with my family and my agent to discuss my renewal."

However, Donnarumma wrote on Twitter, adding a link to his Instagram post: "Hacking on my account. I'm closing social media."
