Brazil star Paulinho has confirmed rumours that Barcelona are interested in him said his agent was in talks with the club over a potential move.
The Catalan giants are looking to strengthen their squad under new coach Ernesto Valverde hand and are in the market for at least one midfielder.
Paris Saint-Germain's Marco Verratti remains their top priority, but reports suggested earlier this week that Paulinho was also a target.
The Guangzhou Evergrande midfielder confirmed the speculation.
"There's been contact with my agent,” he told Globo Esporte. “There's an offer. It's true, and the two parties are talking.
"I'm really proud that a great club like Barcelona are interested in my situation – there is no price for that."
The 28-year, however, is unsure about the move, as he said he is happy and settle in China.
Paulinho joined the Chinese Super League club in 2015 for £10 million after struggling at Tottenham Hotspur and has since enjoyed a resurgence in form, becoming a regular in the Brazil side under new coach Tite.
He's also settled and happy in China with his partner.
"At the moment I'm really happy with my life and with my career," he added. "When you're in a situation like the one I'm in, it's difficult to make a decision.
"There are a lot of things that I have to weigh up, one of them being my happiness.
"I think, first of all, the way things are with my partner here in China… We really like where we are, the people, how things are with the club, the success… The truth is that I don't know [what to do]."
Paulinho said he that negotiations between the two clubs have yet to start, and was unsure if and when this would happen.
Just this week, coach Luiz Felipe Scolari said that Guangzhou do not want to sell Paulinho, who has a £35 million release clause.
