Juve have “shown no interest” in N’Zonzi

According to Sevilla President Jose Castro, Juventus have not shown any interest in midfielder Steven N’Zonzi despite speculation that the Serie A giants are gunning for his signature.

“Sevilla have yet to receive a formal offer for N’Zonzi, neither from Juventus nor any other club,” Castro told Tuttosport.

N’Zonzi had a strong season with the Spanish side which saw him make 34 league starts, scoring twice and setting up a further three goals, to help Sevilla finish fourth in La Liga.

The 28-year-old signed a one-year extension to his contract in January that will keep him at the Sanchez Pizjuan until June 2020.

The new deal saw the Frenchman's release clause increase from €30 million to a new figure that has not been revealed in order to reportedly fend off potential suitors.

“If there really is interest then we’ll evaluate it, but one thing must be clear to everyone. We have no intention of letting our best players leave and any talks must start from their release clauses,” President Castro concluded.

World-wide reports suggest that Sevilla will not sell N’Zonzi for less than €40m should he request a move away from the club.
