Chelsea have completed the signing of Ajax Amsterdam wonderkid Daishawn Redan ahead of Manchester United and RB Leipzig.
The 16-year-old is considered one of most highly-rated prospects in the Netherlands, and the deal left Ajax youth coach Said Ouaali with a bitter taste after confirming the news of his departure.
"We have mapped out a path for him and there is depth discussions with him and his management," Ouaali said, quoted by the Daily Mail.
"That there is no agreement at the last moment is extremely regrettable, obviously they have put something else on their minds.
"We have made every effort to maintain a great talent as Daishawn for the club but at some point, it stops."
Redan has scored eight goals in 12 appearances for the Netherlands U17 side.
