Villarreal have snapped up Porto goalkeeper Andres Fernandez on a permanent basis after a one-year loan spell at the Primera Division club.
The 30-year-old was sent out on loan to the Spanish club in July 2016 and made 20 appearances across all competitions, keeping six clean sheets in the process.
Fernandez started out the loan spell as back-up to regular starter Sergio Asenjo, but moved into the starting XI after Asenjo suffered a long-term knee injury.
Villarreal confirmed via their official Twitter account that Fernandez had signed a four-year contract with the club.
The Spaniard started his professional career at Mallorca B and played for Osasuna and Huesca before signing for Porto in 2014.
