Mourinho in tax fraud allegations

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has been accused of tax fraud by Spanish authorities during his three-year tenure with Real Madrid.

The 54-year-old held the reins at the Santiago Bernabeu from 2010 to 2013, and is alleged to have benefitted from two offences during that period.

Spanish publication El Pais claims that Mourinho evaded tax to the amount of £2.9 million relating to income from the use of his image rights.

The Portuguese coach is the latest high-profile football personality to face such allegations, with Spanish prosecutors having already cracked down on Barcelona forward Lionel Messi, while Los Blancos superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has also been targeted.
