TSG 1899 Hoffenheim have added midfielder Havard Nordtveit from West Ham to their squad, as they bolster their playing group ahead of their first Champions League campaign.
The Norway international has signed a five-year contract with Hoffenheim following his departure from the Hammers after only one season in East London.
“After my time at VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach, I know the Bundesliga as well as anyone,” Nordtveit told the official Bundesliga website.
“I know that I can bring out what Hoffenheim expect of me.”
The 26-year-old spent five-and-a-half years at Mönchengladbach before moving to the London Stadium in July 2016.
“We’ve found someone who gives us plenty more options in our game,” added Hoffenheim coach Julian Nagelsmann.
“He brings the characteristics appropriate for a centre-back in a three- or a four-man defence, but he can also play in holding midfield to a high level.”
