Werder Bremen have revealed that they will send promising young full-back Luca Zander to FC St. Pauli on loan for the next two seasons.
Zander spent last season in Werder's U23 side, making 31 appearances, as they avoided relegation on the final day, but the club are eager to see him play at a higher level next term.
St. Pauli are based in Hamburg and compete in the German second division (2.Bundesliga). They finished seventh in the standings in the 2016/17 season.
"We have a lot of competition for the full-back positions. We are very much hoping that Luca will get regular game-time at FC.
"St. Pauli and will be able to get match practice at a very high level to allow him to take the next step in his development,” Werder sporting director Frank Baumann told the club's official website.
Zander, who is a youth product of the club, has made two Bundesliga appearances for Werder and has played in 61 U23 games.
