Perez: Madrid ‘following’ Mbappe, Donnarumma

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has admitted that the club are keeping tabs on the young talent of Kylian Mbappe and Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Mbappe has been linked with a lucrative move to Los Merengues after netting 26 goals for Monaco in all competitions in the 2016/17 season.

"Zidane saw him when he was 16 years old. Zidane liked him a lot," Perez told Onda Cero when asked about Mbappe.

"We weren't on the edge of signing him, because of his age. If it's a community player he can get to the club from 16 years and if not a community player, starting at 18.

"Mbappe has some very good ways and surely he'll become one of the greatest.

"We are following him, of course."

Meanhwile, AC Milan goalkeeper Donnarumma is also a potential target for Madrid, and further fuelled speculation about his future after opting not to sign a new deal at the Rossoneri.

"Everyone says he's a great player, he's going to be the substitute for Buffon," Perez said about the 18-year-old goalkeeper.

"And he seems to have very good manners. Surely we are watching him. But we will not talk about what we are doing."
