Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is hoping to keep frustrated striker Olivier Giroud at the club despite reported interest from West Ham.
The French centre-forward is reportedly a target for West Ham as well as Ligue 1 side Marseille, after scoring a decent return of 12 goals from 29 Premier League appearances last season.
"It has been a frustrating season for him because he has not played a lot," Wenger admitted, via The Mirror.
"And when he has played well, he has not always played the next match.
"He has won us a lot of points when he has come on because he has scored lots of times. He has qualities that our team need."
The Gunners have not made any attacking signings since confirming that Wenger will extend his tenure by another two years, with Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac their sole signing so far.
